New crosswalks and bus shelters

Hamilton will be seeing some exciting new community improvements in the near future. New bus shelters and redesigned crosswalks will certainly be a refreshment to the city.

Ward one councillor Aidan Johnson recently made a motion for enhanced bus shelters, which was passed by City Council on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Larger bus shelters that were previously located at Limeridge Mall are being relocated to the McMaster University Campus. Ward one will be working with Hamilton Street Railway (HSR), McMaster University, and the McMaster Student Union on this fabulous project to make transportation more accessible and convenient for students of Hamilton.

Speaking further about community improvements, Hamilton is getting rainbow crosswalks at 2 intersections in the city. This project has been endorsed by the LGBTQ Advisory Committee as a way to celebrate Pride and promote equality in the community. The rainbow crosswalks will be located at Main and Summers Lane in front of City Hall, and Forsyth and Sterling in front of McMaster University.
